Something other than xcode for a cross platform game

Is this feasible? I don't want to use cmake to keep regenerating xcode projects and building through xcode. Basically I can't stand x-code. I'd like to use my emacs setup to develop the game then worry about the ios details later. But I'd very much like to test and debug from the commandline without having xcode open.
